Northstar is a family company, started by Lee & Mary Graese, former power lifting athletes and nutritional coaches. After setting an American record in the dead lift, Lee followed his dream of having a couple of bison. The couple saw the nutritional benefits of bison meat and Northstar was born. The company has grown to encompass many more lives, many more acres, and many more animals but the Lee, Mary, and the family remain at the core. Our passion for the most wholesome food, restoring a remarkable species, while healing landscapes inspires us daily. 

Our deep commitment and responsibility inspires us to go to great lengths to ensure the entire animal is utilized. From organs, to bones, to hides, we use it all.
